Known informally as the "Japanese $1.50 Store." The Daly City location has 12,000 square feet of origami paper, dishes, snacks, CDs, Japanese doll house furniture and so on. Some origami paper was 150 mm from Japan. Some 150 mm paper was made in China for Daiso Japan. All $1.50 per package. Example: one package with 6 different Japanese crest designs - 60 sheets in great colors - beautifully done - for $1.50. This store is quite different from the "Japanese dollar store" in Japantown. Note: The store is not in the mall but acrosss the south east parking lot from the mall area.

This place is a little difficult to get to, and I have managed to get lost the last two times I have gone (using directions from MapQuest), but I think this should work - take the NJ Turnpike north to Route 46 East, then take the Main Street exit. Follow Main Street to River Road, and make a right on River Road. Mitsuwa Marketplace is on the left a mile or two down River Road. Note that Main Street hits River Road right by the George Washington bridge. There is a shuttle bus that runs from the Port Authority building in NYC (8th Ave and 40th Street). Carries jewelry findings and an unusual item called Precious Metal Clay. PMC is not a polymer material like Fimo or Cernit; it is finely ground pure gold or silver in a water-based organic binder. Once you form a PMC object, it is air-dried and then fired for a couple of hours at about 900°C in any small kiln. The non-toxic organic binder burns out and the metal fuses, retaining all of the detail of your original design. There is a picture on their web site showing what appear to have been paper cranes that have been coated with PMC.
